Wikis in Libraries
Hosted Wikis (off-site)
- PBwiki - Peanut Butter Wiki - free and pay models. Nice templates for courses and syllabi.
- JotSpot (now google) - recently acquired by google and new accounts currently closed. Possibly will resurface as part of google's office suite. Existing accounts still work.
Web-based Word Processing
(possible solutions to lack of productivity software on the public computers)
Semantic wikis
- "A semantic wiki is a wiki that has an underlying model of the knowledge described in its pages.(more...)
- dabbleDB
Other collaborative tools for students
On Site Wikis - Hosted On Organizational Servers
- Show wikimatrix or wikipedia comparison site (100s of wikis) - open source v. pay enterprise
- PmWki - what we have in the library
